Dr. Mathew Thomas, PT, DPT, ATC/L,CEAS
Dr. Mat is a Colorado native who moved to Arizona in 2000 with his wife, Sumi. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Human Performance Sport and Athletic Training at the Metropolitan State College of Denver, he attended A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona, earning the degree Doctor of Physical Therapy. Dr. Mat specializes in on-site industrial health, wellness, and ergonomic assessments, with a focus in sports performance and athletic training. Prior to coming to Arizona, he spent a year working with the Denver Nuggets. Dr. Mat brings a unique perspective and experience of medicine to the practice because of his credentialing in both Athletic Training and Physical Therapy. He has worked and learned with the finest trainers and therapists in their respective fields, having had the opportunity to not only work with the Denver Nuggets, but also critical experience with the providers of the world renown Steadman-Hawkins clinic in Denver, Colorado. He brings a broad spectrum of experience to Sozo Physical Therapy.
Dr. Eric Gee, PT, DPT
Dr. Eric is an Arizona native who specializes in home health physical therapy in Chandler and the surrounding areas. He has extensive Manual Therapy training that allows him to give exceptional hands-on care. Dr. Eric has a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Arizona and a doctorate in Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona. He initially gained comprehensive training and experience in working with injured employees, and has advanced training in KinesioTaping technique which has become very popular with professional and Olympic athletes, and is a great tool and adjunct to treating everyday patients within the manual therapy models of care. Patient care is a top priority for Dr. Eric, and he works hard to make sure his patients are informed and well taken care of.
Tom Pigorsh PTA, CEAS
Physical Therapist Assistant
Tom moved from Colorado to Arizona in 2012 with his wife and two Labradors. He received his Associates of Applied Science degree in physical therapy from Pima Medical Institute in Denver and has been working in outpatient orthopedics since graduating 5 years ago. Tom has benefited from extensive mentoring from Dr. Mat and Dr. Eric as well as several physical therapists with different backgrounds. As a result, he provides an eclectic treatment approach and strives to optimize patient outcomes and maximize daily function. Tom specializes in industrial injury prevention and treatment and work site ergonomics training. He truly enjoys rehabilitating patients and seeing them return to their favorite activities.
Licensed Massage Therapist
Jayde, being an Arizona native, is a licensed massage therapist that has earned her Associate’s degree of applied sciences from Central Arizona College in 2012. She is well educated in different styles of massage therapy ranging from Swedish to prenatal massages. Taking pride in providing excellent service, she gives her clients a thorough step-by-step plan of what to expect in their sessions. Between Jayde’s magnetic personality and her relaxing massages she proves to be a fitting asset to our Sozo family.
Rachel Brodie PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant
Rachel is a native Arizonan, the middle child in a family of two brothers and one sister. She has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing facility. After working for several years as physical therapy technician, she decided to further her education. She graduated from the physical therapist assistant program at Pima Medical Institute in 2010. She worked for two years in a skilled nursing facility, before deciding that her real passion is an outpatient setting, where she can be one on one with patients to give them the care they deserve and genuinely build relationships with them.
When Rachel isn’t in the clinic she enjoys spending time with family, going to the movies, attending festivals and events (when the weather is right) or just relaxing at home. She is very excited to join the Sozo PT team, and looks forward to learning new techniques and continuing her education, so that she can continue to help patients get back to enjoying their lives.
Patient Care Coordinator
Jaye keeps our Sozo Physical Therapy Team organized to better serve our patients. Originally from Connecticut, he lived in Utah and Florida before moving to Arizona in 1998. He and his wife, Tiffany, and their two children live in Gilbert. When he’s not in the office, Jaye enjoys playing and designing board games, music, reading, and hiking.
